Privacy Policy
What we collect
Account details (name, work email, organisation, a hashed password); order details (services, configuration, amounts); files you upload and files we deliver; messages you send us; and basic technical logs needed to run the site securely. Card details are collected by our payment provider, not by us.
How we use it
To provide and deliver the services you order, keep you informed about your projects, take payment, meet legal and accounting obligations, and keep the site secure. We do not sell personal data, and we do not use your project data to train models.
Who we share it with
Partner laboratories receive coded samples, sequences and the technical information needed to run the work, without your name or project details. We also use service providers for hosting, file storage, email delivery and payment processing, who process data only on our instructions.
International transfers
AssayDirect is operated from Hong Kong and laboratory work takes place in China; our service providers may process data in other countries. We use contractual and technical safeguards appropriate to each transfer.
AI assistant
The assistant on our website is operated with OpenAI's API. What you type in it, the page you are on and the assistant's answers are sent to OpenAI to generate a reply and are stored by us for 90 days to answer follow-up requests and improve the answers; the assistant does not ask for personal details. If you choose to contact the team from the assistant, your email address, organisation and message are stored as an inquiry together with the conversation. Please do not enter confidential sequences or data in the assistant.
Security and retention
Files are encrypted in transit and at rest, and access is limited to the people who need it. We keep account and order records for as long as your account is active and as required for accounting; project files can be deleted on request.
Cookies and local storage
We use one essential cookie to keep you signed in, your browser's local storage to remember your cart, and its session storage to keep an open assistant conversation while you browse. We do not use advertising cookies. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, or object to its use, by emailing [email protected]. We reply within 30 days.
